Biography
Jean François Chéneau
(by Thierry de Longevialle, Director of the Louis Vuitton Museum, Asnières, France)
In the footsteps of the famous French traveler-painters, JF Chéneau invites us to share the emotions and the atmospheres he felt while traveling through South East Asia (Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Burma, India).
Here is an atypical artist: painter, but also sculptor and writer, JF Chéneau is also a talented entrepreneur.
Born on the French Atlantic coast in 1955, he has been living in the country of Siam since 2000. His childhood memories, rich with shores and coasts, seas and rivers, incite him to discover other more distant shores that will inspire his painting and writing. JF Chéneau always carries brushes and colors in his luggage.
Seascapes of illustrious sites, such as Ha Long Bay, but also intimate scenes crossed by delicate feminine silhouettes occupy an important place in his work.
